Have you ever drawn and thought, "I could do better art if I had this paper (or pen, etc)."
Stop thinking like that and just draw. The materials do not matter in the slightest, it's your constant creation that matters. If you spend all your time saving up for the next best brush or oil paint, you'll never be painting or doing the time it takes to get better. Use the tools you have and when the time does come, get the quality materials you desire.

That being said, I really need to create a portable watercolor kit to plein air like James Gurney.
So 'spensive! 

But here's my wishlist I came up with. For those who don't want to research what you need for a portable kit.
